Seasoned Rice with Sweet Heat Glaze
Ingredients
Seasoned Rice
- 2 cups White Rice
- ½ cup Butter unsalted
- 1 Small Onion diced
- 1 tsp Garlic Powder
- 1 tsp Onion Powder
- 2 tsp Paprika
- ¼ tsp Cayenne Pepper
- ½ tsp Salt
- ½ tsp Black Pepper
- ½ cup Soy Sauce low sodium
- ½ cup Fresh Parsley
- 4 cups Chicken Broth
Sweet Heat Glaze
- 1½ cups Brown Sugar
- ½ tsp Seasoned Salt
- ½ tsp Onion Powder
- ½ tsp Ground Cinnamon
- ½ tsp Ground Nutmeg
- ¼ tsp Ground Ginger
- ¼ tsp Ground Cloves
- ¼ tsp Paprika
- 6 tbsp Water
Instructions
Seasoned Rice
- Place the butter in a large skillet and melt over medium heat. Stir in the rice and sauté for about 5 minutes. Make sure to continuously stir.
- Stir in the onions and cook another 2-3 minutes.
- Add in the soy sauce, paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, cayenne and parsley.
- Pour in broth. Let simmer for 5 minutes.
- Reduce the heat and let the rice simmer for 12-15 minutes. Stir occasionally to prevent rice from sticking to the bottom and the liquid is fully absorbed.
- Remove from heat and season with a little salt and pepper. Serve warm with glaze.
Sweet Heat Glaze
- In a bowl combine the brown sugar, season salt, onion powder, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, ground ginger, ground cloves, and paprika and mix together.
- Add the sugar mixture to a small saucepan and add in 6 Tablespoons of water and boil on the stovetop for 1-2 minutes.
- Enjoy!
