Cut the cabbage in half, remove the core and chop into thin slices.
Melt 2 tbsp of butter in a large skillet over medium high heat with olive oil.
Add the cabbage and mix in seasonings. Stir in another 2 tbsp of butter and sauté for about 45 minutes covering with lid. During this time, stir the cabbage occasionally until the cabbage becomes soft and caramelized.
